There is nothing worse then finding out after your death that your crush would’ve accepted you if you had tried harder just oof

Okay these guys are being way too disrespectful to someone that died protecting others. It doesn’t even feel like a joke. It just feels weird and disrespectful. I’d get it if they were only with each other (the rest of the 6 heroes) and reminiscing, but they’re literally bad mouthing the memory of a hero in front of kids. Do they not want the next generation to see Reid as heroic or honor him or something. This feels like a very bad attempt at comedy.

@tnt261 agreed. He was recognized as one of the 6 heroes. Even if he did have bad parts, you keep that to yourself, like the parents did about keeping the bath peeping incident from Finia.

@tnt261 True. Just because the guy they think is dead is right in front of them, doesn't make it okay to just ridicule a supposedly dead comrade.

I'm gonna repeat what I said/asked a couple chapters ago, why are you lingering on past memories and emotions so much? Cool, you went through that but like why and how are you remembering all this and after 7+ bloody years being in a new body? Like every isekai or reincarnation manga shuts up about them or integrates them into the story seemlessly while this is just random spurts of memories and emotions.

@DeltaZulu it's not about them being memories of a past body or not. These are simply memories. There are quite a few isekai mangas, like you said, that ignore past memories after a certain point, but in this manga whether it's memories of his current or previous body, they are considered as one and the same, without distinctions, so when something evokes previous memories, it's natural for him to remember them.

I guess, but those memories are being over evoked in my opinion. Literally, every chapter it seems that some memory has to be recalled, they might as well just do chapters of flashbacks instead of this.

Reid seems to more have a paranoia of being found out than anything. I'd strike it off as OCD developed from working as an assassin and having a habit from being in that line of work.

I wonder how much of the bad portrayal of the character relationships (regarding Reid's death and his friends' attitudes towards it) are due to the WN itself, and how much is due to the WN -> manga adaptation.

I'm rooting for Maxwell to figure Nicole out. Anyways, they should seriously either do flashbacks, or explain a little better to Reid's overly strong attachment to his past life's identity. He's lived a good part of his life as Nicole now, there should be far less overlap especially with a ~7 year gap not including the time between his death and rebirth (so his friends may even barely remember him now. After all, everyone except Fina seems to have stopped grieving for his death and accepted it already.)

I kinda want his identity to be found out too, but I don't think he is particularly attached to his prior identity. He does think about it because he doesn't like the idea of it being found out. He wants to enjoy the new relationship he has with his former friends without the shadow of his previous life. Every time he's been thinking about his previous life, it was to integrate useful memories into the story or to think about how to do with his current life. So he's instead really attached to the new life he's living, to the point of often considering things more from this life's perspective than from a combined perspective of both.

Yep. It really seems more like force of habit than an actual worry about being found out.

I think the wizard will figure him out first, and then we'll probably get some comedy about nervous situations where parents/old-friends nearly find out in awkward situations, and then he just moves on to a new life.
