@RandomlyGeneratedUser Source? All I see offhand is that it's updating on December 1st. But then again if I could actually read Japanese I'd just be reading the raws for this to begin with. Was it in one of the chapters or something?

@Glomoro I'm saddened myself, I went on the raw page and tossed the last page on the latest chapter through Google translate. https://imgur.com/a/vdDChCb
RandomlyGeneratedUser was right, "Thank you for your patronage" sounds like an axe. The December 1st update is an extra, not continuing the story

@Jophnny1023 Not optimistic or anything looking at that, yeah. But I'll still wait and see for now, the wording is a bit vague and it was machine translated and all. Like, the wording used there sounds more like it's talking about the successful sales of the volumes so far and being thankful for that, which sounds a bit too positive for "We're cancelled, y'all." If anything, it's the art and the character's internal dialogue there that looks and sounds like an ending. Considering the tone of the editorial stuff on there, perhaps it's more that this one was never meant to go much further anyway. These adaptations often had a limited intended run from the start, just to boost novel awareness and sales.

Either the author did poor worldbuilding, or I bet you there's a reason the South is really hot and humid in this (rain?)forest. I'd guess most of the flora adapted to the high temperatures and flame giants. Probably heavy wax coatings on bark and leaves, or leaves that regrow easily after bush fires. Not to mention, the high humidity might be enough to make most fires die out on their own, depending on how ridiculously high the humidity is (and how wet the foliage might be compared to how much fuel there is for any fires. My guess is most of the flora in this forest are like 50% waxy high-heat-tolerance substances.
