I know this hasn’t been the best curated example of story-telling, but that part where the hero actually infiltrated his soul space could’ve been something incredible if the author expanded on it. There are bits and pieces here and there that could make this a really solid story, but the execution hasn’t been too great.

Thanks for the translation! Sad this got the axe so early, you can see why obviously, but it maybe could’ve been something more interesting down the line, like a nation-building manga.

I am still also perplexed about the fact that the source material was written by the same author of the Strongest Assassin and Redo of Healer novels. I guess the mangaka who adapted this simply just did not make the cut with making something good out of this.

More or less, I suppose. Really, a great LN can wind up having a craptastic manga adaptation, and a great manga can have a craptastic anime adaptation. It's actually pretty rare that each successive adaptation is always better than the last one. I think one of the few we had this happen with was GATE, and only because each adaptation filtered out more and more of the web novel's extremist political views.

("How bad could it possibly be" you ask? I heard that the web novel author even managed to squick out a fair few of the "Hirohito Did Nothing Wrong" types on 2-chan, but that's just hearsay on my part.)
