As a reader that use Mangadex alot, I want to support it. But unfortunately I cant support it through nomicomi. It will be nice if there's a way to support through other method, i.e. ads. I'm fine with ads that's not too intrusive. Maybe banners on empty space and 1 fullscreen ad after every few chapters. Make it an opt-in option, so only people who wish to see ads will get it.

Hi, we appreciate the will to support us, and maybe we'll consider it if we have to, but we'd much prefer keeping ads out. Unfortunately, ad networks that do business with sites like MD are not very scrupulous and will only offer cancerous porn/gambling/malware ads, which is... not great, to say the least.

And it's also a slippery slope to make it "opt-in ads", as it would then be so-very-easy to ask people to enable it, making it effectively mandatory, and that would go against all we believe in.

Thank you however for feeling this strongly about supporting us, even if you're unable to. The thought counts!

Here's an idea: how about keeping the ads out?
You know those fake ads from Tab**la, B*dg*ar, Mg*d, Outbr**n, P*pin, R*vc*ntent etc that is basically multiple pages of nothing with more than 50% ads, that sometimes circles back to itself... Why not make some of those fake articles for people who are broke but wants to support MD?
Load them up with rehashed tech news, 'find the chameleon' quizzes, or horror shorts, or just anything low quality and post the link here in the forums.
Or maybe do a M*ng*go and have them auto-redirect from the reader if you have an opt-in cookie or something.
porn/gambling/malware ads
IIRC these sites were able to fill their pages with Google ads, at worst autoplaying videos or trypophobia native ads.
