This whole story works better if you think about it as the author's toilet thoughts on exercise culture in japan (and probably online as a whole).

I've never heard of "healthy limits" and "body building competition" in the same sentence

At this point this manga isn't even about erotic stuff, it's just weird philosophy and different type of unhealthy, between the molested fatass MC, the muscle freak girl and the wannabe muscle freak girl.

You could really tell the MASSIVE tone shift once we got the girl's POV chapter where she see herself as disgusting in the mirror.

I think japanese prose is already a bit weird because they dont even have a word like "you" and the language is more about implicit meaning rather than direct meaning (e.g. I dont dislike you). So maybe the author just doubled down on that vague way of dialogue as a reflection of the characters growing together/apart?
