I love the new feature that lets us block entire scanlation groups, it gets rid of a lot of content i'd never want to see on the main page and makes the website a whole lot more appealing.

The only issue i have with it is that sometimes there will be a group i'd like to block, but i then notice that i'm following one or a few of their scanlation, i'm then not able to do anything.

So whether there was another piece of the feature that allowed us to make exceptions within blocked groups or just keep showing us followed scanlations in our Follow page from blocked groups, that'd be great.

Thanks !

Don't block a group if you want to read their stuff

Because very rarely something is interesting, but 99% of the remaining stuff is bad, i'd rather hide the bad, not sure how that's difficult to understand ...

a good example could be when translations catch up to a steamedbuninvasion chapter. potentially the group scanlating may skip the chapter because they find the translation satisfactory now the end user will have a blank chapter that never gets filled. Also along these lines. maybe a group finds itself blocked because of a few troll chapters. meanwhile they are legitimately translating other series in full.

Or a group that does both hentai and non-hentai. The hentai side is super into loli or yuri/yaoi, etc. and they end up getting blocked because of the hentai content. meanwhile their non hentai side is scanlating a series and a user has a legit interest in the series. unknown to them their block is impacting the series they are interested in.

Its unrealistic to know all the series a blocked group is involved in so i can see a scenario like that happening.

a possible easy solution to this might be simply having a small warning above the chapter listing saying this series contains chapters from a blocked group. and then beside it maybe a checkbox or button asking if you want to show blocked chapters.

I don't think consigning groups to the abyss because they translate series you don't find interesting was an intended use of the block feature

This is defeats the whole purpose of the group block. Instead of outright blocking those groups you could always just ignore the releases you don't like/want to see right, seems a little extreme to just block them for such a small reason.

It's like you can't choose whether to keep your door locked or unlocked, so you stuck the lock in the middle?

Actually, this leads to a few questions:
Does the reader still load up a blocked group's chapter without saying anything while navigating from one chapter to the next in the reader?
If the previous is considered a bug and was/will be fixed, does/will it result in a chapter skip warning?

In the end, though, even the most legitimate-seeming problems stem from wanting to use the blocking feature to save yourself from the consequences of continuing to use the legacy reader, but also not wanting to deal with the consequences of that.
