The horse spread is a classicI have to gush out a little more... the color pages are... E P I C.
Tony never disappoints with his art, the designs too are just so cool.
I'm totally agree with you. The synopsis said : "Bard think the salvation need to kill the figure of the legendary savior. It need to kill the heroes."So... COOOOOOOOOL.
The world was much different in this era, I didn't expect that.
Knowing what we know now, it is pretty clear that the Sidh was very connected to the physical plane, now... is this "proper" Pharenos? That is a question to keep in mind.
The layers of the Sidh were so close that the collective mind of the people was materializing things with such a level of power, but it didn't need to be the entirety of humanity; just a localized group was enough. Shows how much Fantasia was circulating then.
I can see how Bard came to become such a legend; he was smart, adaptive, driven, and skilled.
But he is "using" a "fairy"(?), they are helping him in his journey, not exactly strange, the little people didn't seem to be fans of the ancient sorcerers that used their artifacts to become tyrants, so it isn't strange Bard has the help of one... but this means Bard was ready to use what he needed, maybe not the artifacts in question, but he wouldn't succeed if he hadn't his tricks.
I am curious... if Bard knew what the Inquisition became... would he approve? As dangerous as some people can be, the inquisition is just a much of oppressors as the sorcerers of his era.
This series will be GREAT, thanks a lot to everyone at The Artemis Institute, again... not enough words for gratitude.
You know... your comment just made something click in my mind... how the taumaturges' powers work.I'm totally agree with you. The synopsis said : "Bard think the salvation need to kill the figure of the legendary savior. It need to kill the heroes."
But Bard himself will become a legendary hero. Is it what he would have wished ? I don't think so.
So you're saying that the powers the Thaumaturges are using aren't the miracles of Bard, like they believe, but powers of magical items that Bard use ? If it's so, it's true it would be truly ironic. You know... your comment just made something click in my mind... how the taumaturges' powers work.
We know Fantasia has diminished a lot, but Fantasia itself is only one aspect of the wide connective tissue that is the Sidh, and we saw here that in this era, the beliefs of the people could materialize things into the different layers of it.
So, my guess... the taumaturges are like clerics from DnD. Bard's journey and exploits reached such a level that at the end of his life, he became something of a permanent fixture of the Sidh, so now, with the proper "ritual" (as it was pretty heavily implied there is something like that), someone can access "one of his powers".
And I can add... Torgue said, the Patrem Inquisitor had all the powers the taumaturges have, but I would hazard a guess... that Bard never had any of the powers they think he had, he used some mystical means, but never personally developed them, which would be an even more interesting "ironic" development of the whole thing between taumaturges and sorcerers.
Somewhat, but it is more like this... I think they are directly doing "magic", just not the same magic as sorcerers do, it is one "filtered" and "focused" by the means of belief... but still magic. So you're saying that the powers the Thaumaturges are using aren't the miracles of Bard, like they believe, but powers of magical items that Bard use ? If it's so, it's true it would be truly ironic.
Absolutetly. Everybody in the world would see all the hypocrisy of the Inquisition.Somewhat, but it is more like this... I think they are directly doing "magic", just not the same magic as sorcerers do, it is one "filtered" and "focused" by the means of belief... but still magic.
They are tapping into another aspect of the Sidh.
But like you said... ironic... but oh so appropriate, don't you think? If this truth gets out one day... you can bet Torgue will do his damnedest to kill anyone, besides himself, that knows it.
