That aside, "ignorance/lack of knowledge" being an excuse to commit genocide levels of murder of other peoples/beings is a tale as old as time, so I guess this is all rather grounded when you think about it from that angle.

Well if elves and dwarfs like humans, we can't say the same with the leopardmen. Itsuki who has no biased whatsoever thought Eve was a monster about to kill one of her classmates when they met (also don't think Itsuki is an idiot, she's a capable student, but if she's quite intelligent in her studies, she's not very good at reading the room).
