This series was a short, but extremely sweet one. Going to miss this one something fierce, but can't wait to re-read it years later fresh.

No way this masterpiece got axed meanwhile repulsive media like "gUsHiNg OvEr MaGiCaL gIrLs" is allowed to exist. These are the symptoms of a hypocritical society.
Different series should be allowed to exist and be successful for different reasons. Too many people can't just enjoy things for different reasons, and make smooth brained takes by comparing two VERY different series that would have strikingly different audiences. How much carry over do you truly think there would be for the two? The success or lack there of would not affect the other at all. People should be allowed to think something like "The Girl I like Forgot Her Glasses" or "Dorohedoro", and think those are masterpieces, but then turn around and think the same thing about "Monogatari".

A short but sweet story, ngl while it would have been really nice to see more of her daily life, the manga ending when they truly become a family just fits the story themes too much, she will never replace those that are gone and that's fine, she is her own person, even if she is a false child, through I'm kinda worried about her old friends, sure her best friend accepted the tanuki thing rather well but the others are going to think they saw a ghost, perhaps it's a good thing they aren't on the same grade...

This ended quicker than I expected. I feel slightly weird thinking that they adopted an animal instead of a real human girl but then again I guess thats the message of this story.

The fucked up thing is that only a minority of the money a manga makes goes to the actual author/and or artist.

The publishing side takes most of the cash earned from sales. Only a top popular selling manga can make it's author rich.

Most mangaka are starving artists.
They will still hold the fishing pole because... of human nature. Seeing Yuu Watase, Maruyama, Hayao Miyazaki makes these people dream.
