So is the apartment in both the real world and the fantasy world at once? Because that would probably fit his wish of wanting to take him back home better than a copy of his apartment. It would also explain the running water and electricity. What would happen if someone went to check the apartment later, though? Would they be able to see and speak to them, or would they be invisible or something?
