I don't really mind the exposition dialogue now considering everything, we already know Kuu converted Yuri in a chimera to develop a vessel for his mother, seeing him kinda try to empathize with her now was a bit peculiar, but it was thrown away just as fast as it came in. It is what it is, time for the climax.

I wonder if we will (or would) see some glimpses of Lumie inside Yuri as a separate entity when she interacts with other characters. Also, what'll be done about Kuu's mother, the giant chimera sleeping underground, after all of this is over?

As it has already been said, quite the ride! I'll be a proud owner of all the volumes after this series ends (already got the first 3). Thank you very much for the scanlation.

They didn't strictly try to sympathize with Kuu. Yuri's specific question was about ALL chimera, implicitly putting down Kuu's importance in all this and prioritizing humanity as a species vs. chimera.
