I think I mostly understand it.

The "original" Miyuverse, before the revision caused by Illya's time travel, is one where Pandora's Box wasn't opened, and where Darius won. (I'm not sure if those two events are related or coincidental)

That Miyuverse was judged as a bad end and thrown into Pandora's Box, and presumably the Box inside it (that the giant Darius is reaching towards) recursively leads into the same bad end world.

Meanwhile, the Miyuverse revised by Illya's time travel is now the "real" Miyuverse. This is the world where Pandora opened the box with Illya's help, where Illya doesn't exist (or does she), and where Miyu defeated Darius.

This defeated Darius entered Pandora's Box and ended up in the bad end world, sitting next to his alternate timeline giant form.

And Illya is there too because I guess this is where she ended up after getting lost in time.

Which makes me wonder. When the box was spilling endless mud earlier, was it coming from the bad end world, which got covered with mud coming from Pandora's box, and it's mud and boxes all the way down? Or is it just a natural property of the Box to produce mud?

Everything to love in this series: Illya, lore, ascended Illya explaining lore.

"Well, I guess it's only natural for you to be confused."

Yeah, just like all the readers are! Am I the only one who can't follow the damn story any more? Releases come out so rarely that I've forgotten what happened by the time the next one comes out, and even when I try to go back and re-read to remind myself, the story doesn't seem to hold together in any way that makes a lick of sense to me.

If Illya and Miyu weren't so frickin' cute I'd have dropped this long ago.
Its actually a great story, but requires many re-reads, knowledge of general Fate world-mechanics, and many hours of pondering obscure details to make sense of them… I for one am with you on the confusion. I need to give this series a re-read once it ends. A big part of the problem is the irregular releases. The story takes on a completely different feel when straight binged.

Theres a lot I don’t understand. Last I recall Darius fighting the Servants in the “new” Miyuverse.

How exactly did he get dragged back to the “old” Miyuverse, the one where he had already “lost” to Gilgamesh, Tanaka, and Ilya’s time-jumping scheme and was frozen in time? How did Ilya bring him here?

I’d also like to know, and perhaps it’ll be explained later: how exactly were the two Miyuverses swapped, and what does that even mean? The old reality, where Darius destroyed the world, and the new reality where he’s defeated. Clearly in the new reality, Ilya managed to succeed in aiding Pandora in opening the Pithos through her time shenanigans, but what does it mean that the worlds are “swapped.” I don’t see the point.

If I understand it correctly, which I doubt I did, the world of mud is what would happen if the Phitos didn't open. Which was the world before Illya went back in time. While the current world, the one where Team Miyu won, is the one where the Phitos did open.

In short, the timelines split due to Illya going back in time and helped Pandora open the Phitos.
This doesn’t explain what they meant by the worlds inside the Pithos and outside of it “swapping.” I can’t make sense of this.

But how exactly did the defeated Darius enter Pandora’s box? Last we saw him he was fighting and defeated by the Servants & Miyu. How exactly did he enter this space, the “original world”, within Pandora’s Box?

Also, based on your theory… why does Pandora’s Box suddenly take in “bad end” worlds.

Honestly the plot up until now has been pretty easy to follow; I'd say this was the first & only chapter where I genuinely didn't understand the situation. I assume things will be explained in the next few chapters.

The Pithos seem to be operating on a similar concept as CHALDEAS, except the box is a divine tool to be used while CHALDEAS is completely artificial. I'm interested to see where they take it with this series, since FGO's plot has completely jumped the shark in the meantime.
