This manga is really showing how brutal most servants are. Just because they're Heroic Spirits doesn't mean that they're all nice. In fact, most people probably become recorded because of notoriety from doing brutal things.

@Darkenning Because he's probably still in shock and hasn't had time to really process what's going on and the implications thereof. Remember, he's a kid from modern day Japan who had a mostly normal, non-mage upbringing. This is the first time he's ever been in mortal danger and had to deal with people killing and dying right in front of him.

So basically the guy can't count on the book to guide him to a 'proper' ending to the war anymore, now that he's already screwed up twice by 1) summoning his grandma's Servant and 2) letting her get attacked by Manslayer at least a day ahead of time.
Chances are he'll have to create a totally new ending to the HGW if he wants to get back home.
