I wonder when exactly did the "asshole/cold" father thing become so popular and so acceptable by readers ? I like some stories that so happen to have this in them but I would never seek out this genre purposefully. I can handle an asshole ML that is cursed or whatever but an asshole parent/sibling is a big NO but I've noticed that so many webtoons have only that going for them and surprisingly it makes them popular.
The one that I hate the most is probably the one most popular (who made me a princess) and I just wonder if the asshole father in that wasn't "hot" would anyone love the webtoon as much?

Well, I went off on a tangent there...anyway, hopefully, this father isn't a fullfledged asshole and he seems like this just because it's a webtoon and they're squeezing too many events and dialogue into a few pages

The mother is the one who's beyond irresponsible and brainless here, did you know that? If she had spoken up clearly about what was really happening to her, then the father and, more importantly than anything else, the FMC wouldn't have to suffer in this life as well.

Obviously, it's a matter of plot, but if you want to blame someone, curse the mother for her obnoxiuos way of handling things. I mean, the mother was so idiotic as to almost kill the father to "prove" that she had only "played with him".

And to further screw things over, she ends up abandoning her daughter without anyone to take care of her. Clearly, she never thought about her daughter's future, or the father's feelings, when she screwed them over like that.

Father is an a*shole then. Anyway, the art is so beautiful.
