yeah i realised that from the start it doesn't stop me from sympathising with the guy. Honestly I was expecting something to come out this run maybe the power he got from the dragon carrying over or something and if such a thing was the case then he'd hunt the other 4 calamities and get enough power to break free but I think i'm hoping for too much.

To be fair she is basically praising him despite having failed, its not something people are happy about.
If somebody came to you after an exam and said you had a perfect 100 % score.
But you still failed the class because the teachers don't like you for missing out on the field trip witch you were unawere were mandatory to begin with.
How would you feel ?
He was never told he had to be a nice person or anything the first time around, and in all fairness he seem to have been...most of the time.

Very true. But if the people in charge of the tests are as powerful as they make themselves out to be, what reason does she have to be nervous? MC would never be any kind of threat anyway, so why bother caring about how pissed he gets?

The teachers have more social power than me, but the testers in this story act like they have more actual power. If I attacked a teacher (don't do it, kids), I could do serious harm. Which is why (most) teachers still treat students with some respect. The testers here treat MC like an ant, as if he could never harm them in any way.

I think she realised they fucked up picking this guy, and is afraid. The facade is cracking.

short answer, politics.

Its possible that she doesn't want to involve her higher ups as that act in itself is might be problem.
If we assume they have no interest in him passing then sure, he cant do them much harm.
But if they do for any reason whatsoever.... he can and do hurt them just for failing.
There should be a reason behind all of this after all....

but yeah she is 100% aware that just having him repeat the mission again ( even if he now have another hero to hopefully reign him in ) is a mistake....but that might not be something she can controll.
Her job is being his moral compass and should make him act less like an asshole, she clearly isn't the one who controls the world, or the one who judges how good he did.
Something the one who judges his success is actively sabotaging by having him fail again.

something i noted and found abit strange however is that the "judge" said he was a danger to his planet AND other heroes.
Then why is there another hero with him now ? is the hero a admin in disguise or does he get to keep his powers when he goes back home ?
There is no reason to say he is a danger to heroes if there are no other heroes after all... so assuming he keeps the powers then yeah it's a bit more important he gets a good grade.

I figured they are building an army of willing slaves. IIRC, they mentioned previous candidates going back and doing 'good' in their original world. I would assume they keep their power, or why even bother 'training' them? But the whole test seems built to make mindless tools, willing and able to do whatever they are told. They failed MC the first time for a single instance of free will, after all. Despite killing his 'sane' companions, he left the test-world in a better state.

Anything the admins say is just a play; what they're really failing him for is not doing as he's told. Maybe the new hero is just another 'NPC', for lack of a better word. Someone to show MC the 'correct' way, and then get reset with the rest of the world.

I wonder how many times they can reset the world like do they get energy from the praise of the hero/gods so if he just nuked the world serveral times would they lose power and give up

I think the world is like a simulation, to a degree. So effectively every summoned "Hero" would start at the exact same point, I don't know what the "Gods" get out of it, if anything, other than creating soldiers with several years of combat experience and a specific mindset.

@Deathyoda218 it also implied that his first run would have been a pass if he didnt kill his "party" but based off the things he said in the second run in the first he did lots of "good" things that had horrific outcomes in a very the road to hell is paved with good intentions but the professors were ok with that but not the ends justify the means that the second run was. I wonder if we are going to get a time skip like in the good place and we'll be on run 157 in a couple chapters with him caring less and less and the professor at breaking point
