MC may be a complete and total dick, but the whole "kidnapping people and forcing them into a groundhog day loop until they become a paragon of virtue" thing is pretty fucked up in its own way. I'm sure after enough loops you stop seeing the world's inhabitants as living beings and as video game NPCs as well.

Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoy this series and my comment was less of a complaint and more reasoning why MC acts like a douche (getting fucked over in all the evaluation phases and being forced to start from the beginning)

He's still a jerk in that his methods sometimes go waaay past "just trying to survive" and border on cruel, but he's got a good reason (whether it's totally justified is questionable) for being bonkers and is still one of my top Isekai MCs. He went from standard isekai protagonist to a unhinged murder-hobo with superpowers that keeps screwing with the staff's "ideal world" and the only way they can keep him contained is to keep failing him.
