2 questions:

1.) If Ha-min only lasted 7 seconds why exactly did Eul-sol quit again? She did better against Maria than he did, so is the matchup really that bad for her?

2.) Is the author sick or something? I'm seeing a major decline in the line work since chapter 17~ish and I'm hearing about how this manhwa has been going on break frequently. Is this true cause these are usually signs of the author going through health issues generally.

@Amegashi First of all, thank you for your questions.

1) You'll get a proper answer in the next chapter... But without spoiling anything, let's just say that the Ha-min that lasted 7 seconds against Maria during the welcome test for the 1st years isn't the same Ha-min that you saw the last couple of chapters. Also, to your point about matchups, it is said that styles make fights so while knowing how they did in the test is a good parameter of how they fare against Maria. Is not necessarily a definitive indicator that the fighter that lasted longer would win against a fighter that lasted less time. There's been plenty of examples in the world of MMA where Fighter A beats Fighter B but can't beat Fighter C, Fighter B beats Fighter C and Fighter C beats Fighter A. So yeah, matchups are really important. However, next chapter will probably give you a much better answer.

2) He's had some health issues. Nothing major but it seems sometimes the pressure to meet the deadline has caused him to overwork to the point of messing up with his health a bit. The art quality is still pretty good overall imo (specially during the fights), and he loves to use the cartoony style for comedic moments, but there are clear instances in which what you point out has been noticeable. So far the break he has taken hadn't exceeded a single magazine realese which mean he sometimes would publish just one chapter in the span of a month instead of two.

Seriously this went from "interesting family revenge story involving martial arts" to "60 minor characters will fight each other repeatedly while the story doesn't move forward at all".
Is there a story anymore? This crap has been going on for like 30 chapters now.

This will be a learning experience for the creator of this manga, hopefully. He basically screwed it up by foregoing any focus on the core plot and characters after setting up a good premise. Pretty all much all the secondary characters he tried to build up feel about as deep as a puddle.

arc. Still, the pacing is kinda ... wonky. And the mood is all over the place at times.

I do like the art and the action though. I also like the Maria character.

At this point is mostly a loud minority among those reading the manga. I kinda do get why though. There seems to be some sort of disconnect between what some readers thought the series would be about after the initial setup, and what they got. While the story has some dark moments here and there, it's actually more lighthearted than what the abusive father/kidnapped sister origin story might have led some people to believe.

Also, I've noticed there's what I would call a "videogame mindset" lately when it comes to manga. This constant need for the plot to move onto the next challenge, arc, villain and so on. In that regard, this series doesn't follow that trend and, on the contrary, takes its time to depict the everyday life of the characters. No complaints on my end though. The fighting is great, I love the comedy and I'm thoroughly enjoying the school life depiction in this series. A lot of the time it feels as if I'm going to school with them while reading this. @0takuDragonSlayer

Right?! I really like how down-to-earth things are when we are outside of the fights. Makes things that much more exciting when we actually do get to a hype worthy face off. The rescue the sister plot is nice and everything but he's clearly not going to reach that combat level for a while. So might as well give the Supporting Cast some fleshing out right? Plus like you said the comedy is fucking amazing.

Looking at manga such as Black Clover and Demon Slayer with their back to back fights I see what you mean. People want their fast pace stories. Personally i like my side quests. Makes me actually care about the world the MC is helping out
