@Frogguru Good old power creep. Dou Emperor used to be a huge thing already, yet a single guy becoming a Dou Ancestor (only by using some dirty connections because it's so difficult) could basically trample a whole empire and do whatever he wanted. Now every random sect apparently has numerous Dou Ancestors as run-of-the-mill elders.
