If he tells anyone, she's gonna be ruined, and she has no idea if she can trust him or not at this point. Blackmailing him seems like a perfectly rational thing to do in her situation. It's high school, it would be sufficient if the rumor spread for people to at least start suspecting that it's true, and since it actually is true, people would find their own evidence sooner or later. The mere notion that it might be true would be enough to cause huge damage to her reputation. He could point out the evidence that he found himself, that her moles match up, and that would be enough to convince lots of people most likely.
