My immediate thought was to blame a tanuki.

Considering how this series handles conflict (as in "what's conflict?") I expect a silly conclusion to this bit of shenanigans.

if you take a look at oni and guardian statue in this chapter, they all watching for the witches. one of them even turned around their head in page 23. i think it's just them playing a prank on them. not other witches sabotage.

my favorite manga over the years, this is one of the best hidden gem in my opinion, the story is interesting have the feeling of daily life yet original
