I'm not ready for this story to have ulterior plot. Our girls just need to just be normal witches living normal witch lives doing normal witch things. I don't want some trope evil corporation wanting her because she's irregular.

Because raising the "I'm different then most" flag is always a sign of bs drama coming.

I’m getting less the impression that they’re about to set up drama so much as the tour IS the exam. He said Makoto’s curiosity is what is throwing off the measurements, so the assessment might be based on interest or where your eyes look or something. The reason they lie and say they’re on the way to the assessment is to keep the witch being assessed from affecting the results by being aware they’re being assessed.

It makes sense from a hereditary standpoint for Makoto to have a Mary Sue stat spread, but it doesn't fit her character/personality. Now Chinatsu I can see being a prodigy, for some reason...
