@shafiq95 Oh, you almost perfectly described my thoughts. People can complain endlessly about "random" romance, ecchi or harems, but if the authors remove this, they will immediately start looking for romance in any scenes and fight for it. I saw people on ANN seeing romance in the platonic friendship of the characters, but at the same time being glad that male MC and female MC are “only platonic friends”, lol.

Помнится, давным-давно мне написали "юношеский максимализм — превратить всё в говно, или умереть, пытаясь". Кажется, я только сейчас начинаю осознавать всю весомость этого изречения. Ничего-ничего, подрастёшь, отрастишь бороду, тоже будешь шиппить персонажей на ровном месте.
Тем более, тут-то, ты посмотри: как округлились от шока глаза, с каким пылом были выдвинуты все эти аргументы против бойфрендов, как сильно надулись щеки от обиды, и какая яркая зажглась улыбка, когда недоразумение разрешилось. Тут даже слепой скажет — любовь.

@Serenata if I got it right, Hawaii is popular vacation spot amongst japanese, like Egypt/Turkey for russians. So, it was used with meaning "your ordinary boyfriend will find it ok to visit Hawaii, but any other place — not so much"

@shafiq95 I get what you’re saying and I agree that the fetishization whenever there’s two female characters in a non-yuri is really annoying, but to be fair, the author did put in Wada’s character profile(can’t put a link to it atm because it’s not loading) that she might like her. But I agree with your sentiment in other manga. Two female characters can’t bond platonically without people on here and Reddit automatically assuming there’s romantic intent behind it.

@liquidsword If you omit this ambiguous phrase, then practically nothing happens in this manga, which could be interpreted outside the standard Japanese friendly interaction. But I don't think that if the manga didn't have this ambiguous hint, then people would not pretend that it was subtext-ish yuri or don't see romantic tension in any of their interactions. People have so forgotten how to distinguish between friendship moments and yuri subtext, that some manga get the shoujo ai tag only because they are about BFF.
