The thread where Neets help each other to level up.

Introduction.

A Neet is someone with a lot of free time, 24/24 hours of free time actually.
The difference between a “Trash Neet” and a “High Spec Neet” is how do you use this free time

So, to makes it clear, let’s image 2 archetypes of what is a Trash and a High Spec Neet.
We will call them Virgin and Chad.

Name: Virgin
Neet level: 1

So, now that you are acquainted with the concept of Trash and High Spec Neet the question is:
How to level Up?

Well, I don't know, this is why I create this thread, to try figure it out together.

(If my Wealth level wasn’t 0 I would buy RPG Maker and make a game out of this.)

Taking this odd concept somewhat seriously...

There are things I disagree with for high spec neet. Namely "your days are perfectly scheduled". In any realistic scenario, that's outright impossible, neet or not. Even if you're living comfortably alone unemployed, you're likely to interact with a person here and there if you're using the internet, getting groceries, etc. Other people are life's equivalent to a game's luck/RNG mechanics.

In many ways, these categories you've given are all relative to each other too. Let's say room is actually 0 and you set out to increase it.

Increasing this via a serious clean is a step to raising happiness and decreasing depression. By extension, productivity level also raises a tiny bit, and likely health with it since you're now expending some effort in movement to keep things better. If this also leads to you really wanting something cleaner/ stay clean, you'd likely do some research which will put a point or two into knowledge.

That one activity will raise pretty much everything but wealth. Wealth is something you need to put time into... "separately". Raise a skill or two and sell it. Do tedious things that people wouldn't want to otherwise (instead of doing it on say, a mobile game or MMO, though those aren't exempt from making real money off, just it's typically not worth it for the time you put in). Wealth likely helps in some form with everything else, and should help with knowledge to a degree.

Depression/Anxiety is also a slight outlier. This one, from the moment you have more than a few points in it, likely will increase over time unless you keep it low or at "0" all the time. Which you likely could do with a stable income and a more outgoing-oriented personality: you would not have the time to think about it, which would keep it stable or make it lower.

Should you let the depression/anxiety build up, this will generally hinder your ability to raise other categories, neet or not. Without wealth and day-to-day distraction from work or other things that you can use to distract yourself, it's generally rough to get it back down to manageable levels.

Everyone has varying reasons for depression/anxiety. People surrounding you every day, own activity each day, peer pressure, actual day to day potential struggle on living (monetary or from mindset), previous disastrous/traumatic experiences. The list is endless and will be different with each individual on how much each thing will impact.

Thus, I can only say what helped myself. Oddly, that was watching a documentary about how a max security prison operates. And more specifically, inmates on death row. My mentality at the time was too similar to them (minus of course, the reason for being in a max security prison), and I just didn't want that. I cannot say my mentality is that much different now necessarily (since not all qualities are bad for people who have nothing but time to think), but it was a driving force to make me take a step. To actually say and go along with "fuck it, let's do it".

Now with all this, and to give some loose insight onto my above statements (should anyone care), I'd say my stats are along the lines of:

Level of productivity: 35 (Games and entertainment for good parts of the day. Self study in interests and things like cooking/cleaning when it comes up. Keep things clean in the house and people are happy about it, and do most of the "chores" proactively.)
Depression/Anxiety: 25 (Death is coming all the time, but I can technically choose to stop all this whenever I want. So why not just try on this one life savefile I screwed up early on? I also still suck at speaking, and it likely won't fix itself, but I can make do I feel.)
Happiness: 75 (Goes hand in hand with depression/anxiety. Found what I like to do and the types of people I enjoy being around when I'm not holed in alone and comfy. And I get thanks for my efforts.)
Health: 40 (Definitely a bit overweight, do work out a couple times a week, and count calories/ consider intake).
Knowledge: 40 (Nice advertising of something in OP. Gave me a giggle. In any case, I doubt I could qualify for any serious study related job despite now-longtime dabbling in comp programming/art, but I could probably make for a decent housesitter/butler of sorts.)
Wealth: 25 (Repair/request/reselling work. Kind of like self employed, but not quite. Not enough to live off of, but the variety is fun and I learn things just doing stuff. Did make enough one year from reselling where I decided to file taxes, which was kind of annoying, so there's that. Stopped the reselling for that reason, but is most of the reason why this number is as high as it is.)
Room: 90 (Seriously, try the cleaning if you need something to do. It feels really nice having a cozy/clean area to do whatever silly action you want. Even if it's for staring at lewd stuff if that's your thing. Sets the mood better.)

Ok it does sound interesting so heres mine:

Name: Master of Trash
Neet level: 40
Class: Turbo-Virgin Hikki-NEET

Level of productivity 25
Not wasting all of my time, but mainly just sitting around, playing games and stuff.

Depression/Anxiety 60
Really not in the best condition, though theres not much I can do about it.

Happiness 50
I am often rather depressed, but I genuinely enjoy the things I do so theres that.

Health 10
You eat shit and look like it. <—- basically that

Knowledge 69
Currently trying learn to play an instrument and to speak another language (japanese duh) and besides that I try to get more knowledge in other things I am interested in. Minus points for not being able to hold a proper conversation.

Wealth 20
Got a bit of income, but not all to much.

Room 50
A rather tidy room, though theres often quite sometime between proper cleaning.

Active Skills:
-Class Skill: Turbo-Virgin
Can masturbate up to 3 times a day.
Grants a speed-buff when used on degenerate stuff.
-Skill: Mind of NEET
Distract yourself from depressing thoughts like being useless for atleast 6 hours.
Success rate: 90%

Passive Skills:
-Class Skill: Hikki-NEET
Gets a mental debuff, when either being outside, or when directly talking to another person.
Gets positive adjustment on all stats, when being in a comfy place.
-Skill: Sleep is for the weak
Allows to stay awake for up to 30 hours.

———————————————————————————

Though, honestly, I think even without reaching a 100 on any of these you can live a rather satisfying life, regardless if you are a neet or not. And its not like someone like me has to act more respectable, just because they are a neet.
I am not really sure what I want to say, so I will leave it at that.

Aight this thread caught my interest. To open, a quote from Sieghardt Saladin Greyrat in Jobless Oblige:

Rather, I am particularly proud of being unemployed.

Everyone else is bound by their obligations.
Money, reputation, glory.
For the sake of acquiring these things, they will bend over backward, laugh when they don’t want to, ignore corruption, and even abandon the weak.

However, for the jobless, there is no need to deal with any of those things.
Because the unemployed are neither compensated nor rewarded.
When to bend over backward, laughing when you want to laugh, passing judgment on the wicked, and helping the weak.
The only one who could possibly do such a thing is someone without an occupation.
Being jobless is a noble existence.

My backstory: The last company I was at went under. When that happened, I casually looked for a job but didn't get any offers and gave up kinda quickly. Told myself that if I'm ever to do my own thing (start my own business) that this is the time to do so. Decided to aim to build some pure software project. Moved back in with mommy to save money. Told myself that my first deliverable will be a video game. It's been nearly a year and I feel like I haven't done shit.

Now, OP made it sound like he wanted some kind of self-improvement thread, but I'm not sure exactly what kind of self-improvement people are looking for. I, for one, believe that my primary vice is that I lack discipline, and I've tried many things fix this. I've been decently successful in the "stop doing bad things" side of self-discipline (e.g. see Health below) but I need to develop much more of the "do more good things" variety of self-discipline. I don't like using on fleeting motivation gimmicks (since they generally suck anyways). More recently, I've been thinking of going out and hanging out in public places (like makerspaces, coffee shops, public libraries) but too lazy to make myself go outdoors. For example, I visited my local makerspace for the first time last week and it was kinda cool, but it's a 30 minute drive (60 round-trip) and that's enough to turn me off from going back.

Muh stats:

Name: Chang Thunderwang (Chad Thundercock's asian brother from another mother)
Neet level: >9000
Class: Mega-Evolution "This isn't even my final form" Elite Transcendent HikkiNEET

Level of productivity 10
Only doing max of 10-20 hours of serious work per week, when I had envisioned myself seriously buckling down and doing 80+. (haha dream on, me)
I should really be writing code or making art, but instead, I'm wasting my life away playing old video games, watching bad anime, and making stupid posts on the fuckin MD forums.

Depression/Anxiety 10
Not at all clinically depressed. Could probably use more stressors in my life tbh. If we use the term "depression" loosely, I could say something like "I'm depressed because I don't feel like doing shit." but imo that's just being lazy. (I rack disciprine.)

Happiness 80
IMO happiness comes from within. Being able to appreciate what you have. Focusing on the positives in your life.
The flip side to this is that happiness breeds complacency (which breeds stagnation), and I still harbor ambitions.

Health 70
Quit smoking and started to lose weight about 1.5 years ago. Down ~80 lbs so far. At around 13%BF w/ ab lines starting to show. Can't wait for dat 6pk.
Mainly managing macros with "I probably eat enough fruits and veggies to cover micros." Light resistance training 2-4 times/week (mainly body-weight). Been trying to talk myself into cardio but I'm lazy af and hate sweating.

Knowledge 80
Wide breadth of knowledge from STEM to the arts. BS Electrical Engineering. Besides English (obviously), enough JP and CN to read bad WNs with a browser dictionary lookup add-on.

Wealth 50
No income atm but enough savings to keep me running for 5-8 years if my parents kick me out (frugal lifestyle). Student loans and car paid off. Currently living off of my "20% down on a house" fund. Worst case, I believe I have the option to class down back to being a wage-slave.

Room 70
Don't have much stuff so not messy, but I should really do some cleaning.

Dang, I should've done something like this when I wanted people to use my invite code on Nimses... It's much more effective than messaging a handful of people.
