Call me a psychopath, but I wanna see those peace-drunk libtards's faces when that missile explodes right above their heads and during the subsequent battles

Thanks for finishing this off. Was fun to blitz it. Best ending was two chapters ago with their finale, the post-war stuff, not a big fan of the super ghost thing. That said some of the actions by the public and authorities echo true in today's environment 13 years later which is a mark of a good tale.

Gonna sit down and marathon this when I get the chance, but thanks so much for translating this, @DecentSP, and also thanks to the other translators you picked up from (@Aizen-sensei and @BidHangingAddNine). It took a while, but a lot of us /m/en have always wanted to finish it and we're in debt to you guys!

@Gunlord500 I think you'll enjoy it! I'm biased of course but I think the Return of the Shepherd storyline is really amazing. I wish it had 5 more volumes for me to read. Enjoy!

I love how Page 8 shows images of events that he wasn't actually there for. It's probably just a slight oversight in the reuse of old art, but it does make it feel like he truly is some sort of supernatural force rather than just a resourceful/cunning/prepared/etc.

edit: Oh, goddammit, I spoke way too soon, not a few pages later he pulls that shit "HUH LOL" indeed!

The "human" Inuzuka must have died during the war, this is just a phantom, the afterimage of his obsession.

I know it seems stupid for what it is a hard sci-fi story... but I like moments like this, it shows the strange nature of the world and life.

Even in hard sci-fi and especially in real life, there are things that occur that defy explanation.

If I could give a good example, take the BattleTech universe - it's primarily grounded in being real robot, hard sci-fi, but there are occasionally things that arise that have no logical explanation. Morgan Kell's Phantom 'Mech ability, for one, or the dread Black Marauder.

And in real life, well, we're utterly replete with examples...

All that to say in that I feel it actually enhanced things rather than taking away from them, but I feel it would have been even better if they had never been able to capture Inuzuka at all.

I watched a video on the Black Marauder recently, scary stuff.

By what was said in the video, it could be an AI that went full rampancy, and started on a path of slaughter... or it could be some sort of fourth-dimensional being playing with inferior creatures.

Either way... best to stay out of that thing's way... it likes to play with its food... and it eats a lot.
