Maybe he is aware that giving two magic rings to girls who need them to survive does not equals to getting engaged.
Use logic. They need those rings. Do you also want a disclaimer on the rings that say "These are not engagement rings."?
It would be beyond ridiculous if he were to get self conscious about that.
It would be another thing if he was giving one ring to the heroine, granted that this ring doesn't have an illusion spell, hence making it a normal ring, which would make anyone guess it as an engagement ring.
But two magic rings? Really?

Ring finger. There are many places he can put the rings on. The ring finger and the forefinger is of the same size in most people. And if this is a magic ring that is automatically suited for the fingers of a person without having to modify the size, he could even put it around their thumbs or even a middle finger. He even puts the rings on their left ring finger, which in our world was chosen as the position for engagement ring because most of us are right-handed and therefore, we don't use left hand so much and the engagement ring would therefore be pristine longer than the wear and tear on our right hand.

Ai-chan can bet you, that in the future, they (and everyone else) apart from Eldena will think that they're engaged to him. But he wouldn't think so, because he's dumb. There will also be a plot point where he found out that putting those rings are considered as engagement and will agonize about it.

No Ai-chan didn't read ahead. This is conjecture based on this common 'misunderstanding' trope.
