So I dug a bit, it seems that the maid really wanted to kill him, and they won’t reunite after. She was not that important to the story, which is quite disappointing for me since that chapter 10 left quite the impression on me, I still remember it even 2 years later.

Well that's garbage. Might as well delete the entire introduction arc to this entire series if it wasn't going to be relevant at all. MC might as well isekai'ed alone. It's setting plot threads to draw interest in that will never be fulfilled, feels like I got scammed.

Bit long to remember the plot here. Probably not too important other than what's mentioned here.

That hole is just so wrong. They have nailed planks to the stone wall. They also nailed them on the edges of the hole, not the centre.

It's extremely risky to leave the walls, and the leader should've been taken out with bows long before.
