Because Victoria was influenced/brainwashed by the Goddess of Love via Christina (the Saintess). And yet, here we are. Victoria was already possessed by another gods doing things that she will do again in the future. So it's like The goddess of love just triggered something and not actually brainwashed her.

I even keep forgetting that Raoul was supposed to be a reincarnated soul.
I think most of you guys think of Raoul as someone whose memory of the previous life is intact. But for what i can see he never even consider his previous life, never mention it. Is more like he is just aware of it, but his memories of it are very limited. Child Raoul is in fact a child. Not an old man with the body of a child.
He didn't posses a child's replacing his soul. He effectively have been reborn in this world.
