@shmerdistor Well, yeah. They're reading a shoujo romance manga. They're treating it like one. If this was literally any other shoujo series I've ever seen, I'd agree with them that this seems like a romance rival flag. The only reason I'm not immediately inclined that way here is because this series in particular is a bit of an oddball overall. This series often defies expectations that come with various parts of it.

With that said... this could somehow become the turning point where it decides to defy that expectation. Never underestimate the ability of mangaka to do something completely fuckin' stupid. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I feel like the love rival potential is a red herring. That's what the mangaka WANTS us to think, but it'll probably be a misunderstanding on the part of Aoyama and then some crazy shenanigans that ends up with Aoyama at Momo's house. My prediction is it involves Hibiki in some really ecchi situation that makes Aoyama's nose bleed until he passes out, hence the bloody shirt.
