...Huh?!...Like, half of the chapters since she popped up include the fact that she's a princess that hides under the guise of a boy to stay hidden...It's the second largest plot point aside from Ash and his drive for advancement.

I'd be miffed at the uncle if I were her, or her mother. She was sent there to deepen her bonds with Ash (and also be educated), and potentially form a romantic relationship with him, and the uncle knowingly rooms him with another girl!
It's a massive political and familial blunder on the uncle's part, not to mention just a silly thing to do on a decency side (at least from the perspective of those times).

And I know someone will come in and say
'well ackshully, the uncle was trying to help the princess mentally by rooming her with Ash and blah blah blah 🤓',

Seems like you either skip reading or just forgot, but Arthur IS a girl, not much is mentioned in the flashback but he is probably a boy now and before. In case you also forgot, both Ash and Maika realize Arthur is a girl but Maika thinks that she is probably wrong.

If you are miffed on how she decide Arthur must be a girl now just because she act femininely, you need to realize that even if the world doesn't have the medieval abhorrent attitude to gay people, jealousy is still jealousy and women could spot a girl when they see one (I'm serious, if guy could see a guy cosplaying as a girl and got fooled, a girl could spot a girl cosplaying as a guy easily)

Well...perhaps emotional drama will be the one thing Ash can't solve with just a book and gumption. Romance aside, it's easy to get jealous and/or feel inadequate when it feels like your friends are miles ahead of you, even if there's no good reason to feel that way.

The way the rest of the story has gone thus far tells me it will all be resolved shortly.

Yeah, I think so; if anything, the light novel focuses too much on Ash as the perspective character so I'm glad the manga adaptation is fleshing out the rest of the supporting cast

my bad, i think i might've taken a break from reading this b/c of the missing chapters and it being late at night made me think that girl was talking about Ash/the mc, not the other person
