so i just caught up with this after just randomly picking it up yesterday and over the last month or so i been reading a bunch of random isekai mangas and its pretty obvious that this type of isekais that focus more on the world instead of an op mc are so much better but of course having fights here and there is nice even if is not the mc fighting but just being involved so here are my question:

what times period does this MC come from lol, in one page when he talked about his past memories they showed a castle with canons and later when he was fighting the bear he talked about when he died and they showed him viewing a field full of dead knights with armor and swords, then i think after he fight the werewolf when he was walking up he saw his memories again and this time it showed him looking at what it seemed people in a lab with lab flasks, then there is also the fact that he mentioned that in his times he never saw planes made out of iron lol so

one, why doesnt he use/carry a sword to defend him self like against the bear or the werewolf, not asking for this to become full time battle centric, just, you know, just carry one for defense specially since it appears he was a knight so he should know how to handle a sword specially since now he is in the academy and there is a class for military tactics.

and two, what time period does he come from??? they showed him dying in a battle with knights/armor/swords but then he talks about planes not being made out of iron in his time and that memory of him being in a lab or something lol so its kind of unclear where he comes from unless he has been reincarnated across multiple time periods??

that side, this chapter, they are YEARS away from making a plane so i hope the topic of a hot air balloon comes up at some point.

The simplest explanation is that maybe he has memories from multiple lives, or maybe the earth he previously lived in wasn’t as modern, as all the imagery from his inner thoughts depict 19-20th century technology

And it’s also possible that all the art drawn by the artist wasn’t meant to appear super specific, like w/ the world map of our planet, so when and where he lived in the past should’ve remained ambiguous
