I do hope we'll see what happened to the family for offering the wrong girl as the miko. I read some spoilers that the sister
isn't punished because she was a kid who didn't know any better and was just going along with what her parents were doing, which is fine,
but I desperately want to see Lerunda's sperm & egg donors eat shit.
Unfortunately, I don't think you will get your wish.

That happens in non-Lerunda POV chapters--and this manga has skipped every single one so far (no matter how important they are later on).

And, well, frankly
from what i remember, they both might be dead by this point. The mother definitely is--she got sick and died with something around when the priest was allowed to look for the real miko (the mother getting sick and dying was a pretty strong indicator that they had the wrong sister). The father might not be dead YET, but it wouldn't be much longer and happens in his next appearance (it's a chapter from his POV where he gets eaten by a monster at the end after being a whiny little bitch)

Honestly, the alternative POV chapters are some of the best chapters in the web novel--the interconnecting arcs of the different characters provide readers with multiple sides of some key interactions (using flashbacks when the 2nd character brings it up) and shows some real character growth. The sister's redemption arc is fantastic and the sort of heel-face turn of the prince of Migha (or whatever the country was called) basically drives the 2nd half of the plot of the novel (*based on what is currently released and translated).

If anyone is interested in hearing more details about all of the little nuggets of story/lore, let me know--I would love to go over some of what happens in them.

Accepting them into the village when they didn't for the human refugees is just a recipe of disaster if found out.

Fortunately these two seem to not be a threat after all. This could have turned very ugly, but the seemingly devout priest would rather serve the Miko as per divine will than abduct her as per the kindgom's orders. It's kinda cute that the warrior turned out to be a swordswoman who followed the priest because she was attracted to him, and a good thing since she's there to wrangle the guy.

As to them joining the village, it would actually work in their favor to let them, since driving them away risks information about their secret new village being leaked back to the kingdom. If they don't come back, the kingdom can just assume they were killed by monsters deep in the jungle.

Not sure how their appearance now affects the current conflict with the tribal refugees though. But the longer the main characters stay away from the village, the higher the chance the refugees will discover they took in other humans.
