Partly that, and I’m thinking the mark removal got expedited because of the current situation. A town attempts to murder a local god, kills said god’s lover, and covered it up for 20 years by falsely claiming the god was evil? The other gods would absolutely go “contract terminated” for blessings.
Hades was driven out of Kaboku 20 years ago, but the murder of Fone was very recent.
The person who did the actual killing has already appeared in fact

There you go San don't commit the crime if you don't want to do the time, they probably will save her by tomorrow so she got away with it pretty much

Finally some killing of humans, about time, i was genuinely starting to lose faith in the author, given how the Named never get a W

Let's goooooooooo Phoenizaku came in clutch! now that's a homie, no more bull shit healing hacks for none of you!

That is what you get when your abilities are not yours.
Also very smug of her to say "no one will be able to use healing magic", she really believes that no one learned to heal by themselves without believing in a demon?

If there’s supposed to be an advanced notice, but instead the marks are being cancelled immediately, did the gods see and learn what’s happening in the village and decided that an immediate cancellation is needed?
Pretty sure that the oracle was made after Fone's murder (that being the root cause) and that the ban was supposed to come into enforcement when Hades attacked... but he did it so suddenly that there was no time for an advance notice.

Nah the lover was killed recently, like within the last few weeks or month at most. The time mage was investigating her disappearance.

The 20 year ago thing was the leadership of the city revolting against the local god, and denouncing him as evil.

The healing mark thing was punishment for the near rape of one of their clergy at the hands of humans, and the sudden application was likely because humans further attempts to fuck with yet another deity.

Tripling down on the town being completely irredeemable and Hades being justified I see. Author really wants us to side with Hades, and will keep making the town look worse and worse until we do. Look, I'm sorry, but no. I'm just not feeling it man. You've gone to huge lengths to make Hades attack on the town justified that it's become cartoonish. Let Hades be a bad guy. Even if the people in charge of the town are awful, that doesn't mean Hades needs to be completely justified for everything. Stop ruining your narrative and let both sides be wrong, rather than bending over backwards to make Hades "redeemable".

Are women not allowed to be beautiful when they reach 40 yo?
The woman being talked about is Urs Fet, the Time Mage (he made a similar comment back during her introduction when Kikuru was brought to the box/station).

Also the two guards that weren't suddenly a head less tall were two of the three who were logged as out during a patrol in the time frame where Fone died. Pell was the other.

I didn't see it until now, but the one Hades mourns is named "Fone" after Persephone. This is not unlike how Enome and Esyne are (apparently, given their names' JP pronunciations) named after Mnemosyne. Despite the disgusting stuff this author adds to his story, he really can write something interesting.
well the story is always entertaining from the start, it just author slip in some smut thats why some people missed it

Nah fuck those village elders. They deserve to dieeee
On a serious note, I don't see the author seeking Hades' redemption, only his retribution. It's a bit like King Masura. He was a great antagonist because he was complex. Like he was defending himself and his family, he knew what he was doing and what the outcome would be. This time is a bit more shallow, with the main motivation as revenge. Unless the village elders actions were justified, but so far they act like typical cornered old people irl. And we still don't know why Fone was killed so 🤷 fuck it. I hate entitled, condescending, old people that has nothing but their seniority anyway :pepehmm:

Hades is correct and the more it goes on, more shady shit comes out.
