I mean... while I get the concept of the manga, there are plenty of hypoallergenic dog and cat breeds out there that they could have adopted/purchased and have an actual pet instead of VR things. But I suppose then we'd be down a "dark" elf and fantasy monsters.

i wonder how much of the romance we will have here, or will it focus more on the monsters? to be honest i'm more interessed in the couple interactions

I wouldn't be surprised if 'normal' pets were more of a luxury in Japan than in the west, other than like taking in a stray cat, wouldn't be surprised if they had pet shops that were more 'regulated' to where the 'adopt don't shop' thing isn't as much of a phrase/phenomenon in Japan (plus you'd probably have to pay a lot of something hypoallergenic or import like a sphinx cat lol [once outta curiosity i was looking at rat terrier stuff (one of my fave dog breeds) i think i found some japanese site that mentioned selling some of them and other smaller dog breeds, covid aside that you could buy specifically from japan but maybe they also had it so people living in japan who wanted something other than Shiba inu could hire them lol]), if not the author just wanting to make a fantasy world

Tho i can imagine all those popular cat cafes if they did provide a room specifically for hypoallergenic pets would be like twice the cost too lol

Because its bad game design lol
Not really. Off balance stats are spring boards into specific builds that help players get to those builds faster. D&D has racial and class stat differences that do the same thing of raising or lowering specific stats on the player blocks allowing for the character builds to better suit what the player is trying to make.

Please at least try to merge spread pages ColorNoob.

Like this:
(I literally just put the two pages next to each other.)

When we say off balance, we mean with respect to different races. Not race based stat specializations. The dark elf is clearly stronger than the human race accross the board. Thats why it was mentioned in an article and why she chose it. Thats poor game design because it kills build diversity by making there a clear best choice.

Except thats exactly what is meant here, the racial stat differences. And again that doesn't make it bad game design, we haven't even seen the stat difference for other possible races besides for humans and dark elves.

Edit: Just to add on, they literally show the beginning stats difference based on their starting races with his being a balanced distribution of points among his stat block and her stat block clearly being shown to favor magic and speed while having a drop in str, def, and luck.

It seems I was arguing based on what kinda "offbalance class" dislike I was familiar with, not what this series was saying, my bad.

I'll be honest, I've played a lot of mmo and rpgs and I've never seen people complain about race specialization (What the heck even is a landmine species??? Wacky translation???)

If anything, I see more people talk about balanced characters being a jack of all trades, but master of none as a detractor.

Their reactions are very weird, they know this is a generic game, so why are they saying things like, 'in case this is dangerous' or worrying about stats when they literally only have the goal of petting animals.
