Imagine thinking the secret of happy marriage is alcoholism. As a kid who grew up with an alcoholic parent I can tell you first hand, no that ain't it chief. It leads to problems because alcoholics think they control the alcohol when in truth the alcohol controls them. For example even if they fill the room with alarm clocks it's unreal they could wake up on time for work after a hangover from drinking the previous night.

Ikr they are already thinking about having children. Like they aren't a bad example for any potential child. Not to mention the child will be very much fated a victim of negligence of any kind, be it psychological, physical or emotional.
