I've never heard that phrase used before and can't properly make sense of it from the contextual clues.

I'm not sure myself. I thought the regular japanese thing there is that sneezing is caused by people talking (usually badly) about someone behind their back?

We've seen Ponta hanging out inside Arc's rib cage (at least I remember such a scene from the anime), so his appearance is unlikely to be a mere illusion. I guess the food just up and vanishes like a fart in the wind? Curses are weird.

Based on context, I think that's a typo of "I wonder if I got scolded?" because the superstition is that random sneezes are caused by people speaking ill of you.
