A bit different from the web novel, if I remember correctly he could still use the spring water later on, just that the effect didn't last very long each time. If he can't turn back temporarily later on anymore, there are some scenes that will have to be different/omitted in this/light novel later...

yeah in the novel he fainted because of the shock of the emotional backlash as his undead form suppresses his emotions and when he turned back into flesh it all came back at once.
afterwards he could drink the water to temporary transform back.

his friends also thought he was someone else as they did not recognise him at first too xD

Yeah, the water only lasts a few minutes I believe in the WN. They might find an alternate temporary source in this adaptation. Magic tomatoes maybe?
Odd that the prince is giving up on his power play. But he seems more like a behind the scenes type of guy anyway.
Next chapter looks...intriguing. I sense more bone jokes.

That makes a lot more sense than the explanation in this chapter. "His soul couldn't handle the sudden transformation" Suure thing, but the transformation into a skeleton was totally fine for his soul...
No, even more than that wouldn't it mean his soul was ripped out of his body and put into the skeleton avatar? How's that less straining for his soul than returning to his original form which would fit his soul the best...
Surely they can't be serious with this explanation. (and don't call me Shirley)

@Lazytyke In the wn it's explain that the skeleton is a skin he applied to his game avatar, so long ago e forgot about his char original appearance
and that the backlash he experienced was due to is emotion and memories of all he's done since coming here returning to him in one go

They just threw out all the stuff about him feeling all the emotions that were suppressed and made the spring a complete dead end. Now the trip to the spring has basically become useless aside from it giving the ninjas a new home. He uses that spring water multiple times later on in the WN... But if in the manga (and I assume the LN?) he developed an "immunity" to it, then all of those scenes will need to be changed as well. o.o

For those who wish to read ahead of the manga it would make sense to base it on the light novel as the company and author want to make more money because people need money to buy food, pay bills and shit

Honestly, the "no emotions" bit from the WN wouldn't work anyway. It's obvious from the start that he still has his emotions, just that he's a skeleton.

This shouldn't be a copy of Ainz. Else it would suck.

@Raidou94 I'm reading the mangas for those, but I don't remember any major differences from the web novels yet. The manga for Death March has larger differences from the WN than those do, and none of those differences are nearly as large as the differences that will be created by the rewriting of how his curse works and him developing a "resistance" to the spring water.

@Liquidxlax I don't think you understood my comment. I was shocked by the difference because it is much larger than the differences you normally see made going from WN to LN. I wasn't implying that they shouldn't base it on the Light Novel. It's obvious they should do that.
