He literally used the term "appropriating their culture", so you can't convince me that's not a large part of his motivation when making that first post, as well as the subsequent ones. I get that you want to defend the guy, but at least don't try to ignore the things he did write to do it.

You keep saying his whole motivation was about cultural appropriation, but if you go back and check his comments, he never used that phrase/term until almost the very end. It was much later in the discussion when he was answering to my comment, and even then it was a passing remark.

His argument was always about how it’s weird/cringe to overuse japanese lingo as a non-japanese person and how it’s pointless to get mad over translations not using certain words. That’s it.

You’re acting like one sentence from the end proves his "real motivation" from the start, even though everything before that had nothing to do with cultural appropriation, yet still argued against him. That’s just rewriting the argument to fit your narrative...

As for your last paragraph, if people misunderstood your point, that means they didn't randomly bring it up. They were replying to what they thought your stance was. That was also just their personal opinion, well, at least the ones that weren't rude about it.

But that’s still a misunderstanding. Just because someone thinks you meant something, it doesn’t mean they were right to assume that, same with Miguel's case. Instead of actually reading what I said, they jumped to conclusions and started arguing against things I never claimed. I do admit I took it the wrong way and answered in frustration, but fairly so.

But yes, I agree that the argument is getting too deep and meaningless at this point, so I'll just bow out of this first, if you don't mind.

Okay then. Hopefully future comment sections stay far away from these arguments.
