One thing I appreciate about this example of the gloomy guy x upbeat girl type manga compared to many others is that the guy is genuinely nice to the girl. There are a lot of works where the guy gets really nervous and embarrassed by the antics of the girl and then he completely misguidedly discharges that nervousness as rage directed at her, which I guess we're supposed to find funny, and of course the girl never cares about that at all, but to me it always just makes him come across as an asshole. But this guy takes her seriously and engages with her as an equal, doesn't try to make his own nervousness out to be her fault somehow, and any nervousness he does feel he keeps to himself and tries to overcome. It's nice. Makes him feel like less of an incel r/niceguy.
