I would recommend you don't scare this TL away.

Galaxy Scans, the original team translating this, is well known for locking away their translations behind a paywall for MONTHS, and only release them to the public when they notice someone else starts working on the same works as them.

Then when they succeed in scaring off the new TL, they go back to locking their TL's behind a paywall.

If there is 1 team worthy of being sniped with armor penetrating bullets, its Galaxy Scans.
well i am not, i was genuinely just asking a question

No one can fix the President, because she's already perfect.

I might as well chime in with some history and context on why we're still doing this series even though we're "so far behind".

I picked it up originally because GDS had only posted chapter 1, and that had been 10 months prior. I assumed they had abandoned it. Moreover, I felt their version was lackluster, and the series is too cute to leave by the wayside, so I teamed up with Scyllae and we decided to start the series from Ch 1 for consistency.

We started working on it around the end of Nov 2023. Scyllae happened to mention it in his discord server in early Dec, and the next day GDS posted chapter 2. We released our chapter 1, and the next day GDS posted chapter 3, and then chapters 4 and 5 quickly after that.

We generally kept about a 1 month release pace, with GDS posting 2 chapters ahead within a week of us posting ours. In August 2024 we decided to make a sprint of it and released three chapters at once, outpacing GDS on chapter 11. GDS immediately proceeded to shit out the entirety of volume 3 over the next week or so, bringing them up to the current chapter. (At what quality, I don't know. I refuse to check their releases.)

Satisfied that we'd kicked the bees nest and put one of our chapters on all the aggregators, we went back to our regular pace, at least until life got in my way and I had to take about two months off. GDS, meanwhile, kept up with the web raws, and even started releasing before the free Japanese version. (Someone probably bought a subscription for early access, presumably to spite us and "protect their turf" or something juvenile like that.)

Our goal was never to beat GDS or even keep up with the web raws. We're working from the tanks, which are always several chapters behind, because we're going for better quality. If that annoys you too much and you're satisfied with GDS's dreck, feel free to block Facepalm. We're doing this because we want to; take or leave it as you please.
Fuck the haters, keep doing what you're doing. I appreciate your team's work on this.

Also you guys will eventually "beat" GDS and cause them to dump their entire paywalled backlog in a few months, so you're doing God's work.

The funniest thing is that if the "competing" translator stops at any point, GDS will also stop. They'll only upload when and only when someone else tries to do proper translations, like a fucking child group. They even block AND harrass people in their discord who comments against that.
