He got the parents' approval, we are one step closer.
I'm not sure how I'd feel knowing that my work sold out but that did had nothing to do with the actual content but was just because a cute girl was selling it. Unless it's revealed that it became popular due to the reviews from the first buyers.

Imagine if the dad would have challenged Otaku-kun to a « FLEX-OFF » to see if he’s worthy of his daughter lol

You are not wrong. Other sites had up to Ch. 27 which is the latest one released. Mangadex will get up to translated ones in the next chapter.

I think that for high school kids who go to comiket it's not really about money. At ¥300 per copy they would have made ¥30,000 total but that would have to go to cover printing the books, as well as tickets and transport for three; I suppose it might just about recoup the costs.
That being said, it's also one of those cases where exposure is valuable as well. Even if you're making something for the love of the craft, it's important to actually get it to people who want to read and enjoy it. Arguably anyone who got lured in by a cute gal would also be into a cute romcom featuring one.
I thought it was Square Enix, who publish a lot of manga and anime as well as videosgame under their own brand.

You can have as great content as imaginable but still sell hardly anything. There are hundreds of sellers, some of which are extremely well-known from past years. Lots of people are just going to go and buy their books. Like selling any sort of product in a market full of competition, the problem is how to make consumers aware of your product specifically. Nothing says, yet, that the contents were poor. If the buyers actually read the doujin, like Yua hoped, and don't consider their money wasted only due to the honey trap, then all is well. What they don't want to see are reviews stating the contents were meh and the buyer only bought the book because of a cute sales girl. The Japanese are polite face to face, but online they can be as blunt as anyone else.

Yua seemed to be having fun as a sales girl, so no problem there. Her name even is in the book, so nobody can claim the circle used an external person to increase sales.

It's a reminder that works of art never exist in a vacuum. There is always a context around them that affects how they're perceived. The Mona Lisa was considered one of Da Vinci's lesser works until it was stolen in 1911. The theft gave it a ton of publicity and ever since it's been the most famous painting in the Louvre. One of the most famous paintings in the world.

Directly across from the Mona Lisa is Paolo Veronese's The Marriage at Cana. It's massive- 6.77m x 9.94m. A way more impressive painting than the Mona Lisa. But its biggest claim to fame is that it's overshadowed by the much smaller Da Vinci opposite it. If you ever go to the room, there will be dozens of visitors crowding the Mona Lisa with almost no one checking out the Marriage at Cana. Context!

Having a pretty girl to catch attention is sales 101. Same as making an eye catching cover, or getting a good booth position where a lot of people will see your table, or getting shared by an influencer online. None of which have anything to do with the actual contents of the book, but affect how people will perceive the contents.

We live in a world of biased perceptions.
