It's only with the ML that she turns into a blithering fool who reacted so strongly in what seemed (clearly even to the ML) like an outsized manner to something innocuous. Yes, she's now incredibly embarrassed, but how is she able to be so "together" with everyone else around her, but not this one guy, and after so few present-day interactions?

I even get it why - she is probably in love with the guy hence why even she has it so hard to speak with him. But she is not alone, keeping it to herself and not even opening up to her friends about this while looking so down is only making this worse. Hopefully this new girl will step in and resolve the issue.

You're right - it's one thing to misunderstand and get upset. But the five days of radio silence, plus the active ignoring at school, is a bit much even for this context. I'm kind of amazed the ML cares enough to persist at this point, given there's not really been a lot to establish a rapport between them where I would believe he should be compelled to do so.

The MC here is much better person than most people I know in my life. I mean, the entire premise is that he fixed her bike without even knowing her. And when he was little he made a toy of her choosing and didn't think anything of it because being good is so natural to him. Guys like him are national treasures and should be protected from harm.

I do see what you mean - the disconnect for me is doing good things because it's the right thing to do, but then being met with anger and then complete radio silence (in when they're in physical proximity in a school setting).

You can be a good person, but there's a point where self-preservation should kick. He spent an entire day preoccupied over why she's acting this way, not paying attention in class. That's affecting his school life, and while we don't see it, it could be affecting him at home when he's doing his craft/hobby stuff.
If a person who you barely know gets mad at you for unknown reasons and then completely avoids you for nearly a week and you've only done nice things for them--well, there's other people out there to help. Fixating on that person when they've made it clear they don't want anything to do with you starts straining credibility, outside of this obviously being a romcom between the two and so him walking away entirely would kill the story.

Which I get is why we're introducing a third character (why that character has to be another attractive woman is...well, it's a Manga Thing), to compel the two characters to talk. I just wish they didn't require outside help, and that either the FL got over herself in that amount of time, or the ML took it a step further and went out of his way to track her down and push for a dialogue to solve things.

And I think that's my problem with it. The fact this second girl has shown up means that the ML & FL were never going to resolve their problem on their own merit. That feels like sloppy writing, because if he's a good person and she's in love with him (on whatever level), what point is there in them continuing this relationship between them if they can't make it happen themselves?
It reads like neither of them actually care enough to meaningfully address the issue, and so I as a reader find it hard to care about them making it work.

I feel like most of you guys are expecting too much form a story that is only five chapters in and good communication between two people who wouldn't even be able to call each other friends yet. A ML that's clearly and introvert and a Gyaru that's aware she has poor impulses control. So aware that she managed to apologize the same day as running off. A week isn't a long time for the distance those two have where they don't normally talk at school.

Thank you for translating
Clear communication is the enemy of rom coms. If everyone was clear and honest with what they feel and think, most rom coms would end sooner than later.

She must have a reason for being like that... I hope they explain it later :p

Don't worry UBER THICC Douguchi will assist with the resolution :D As I can see with the chapter pacing... it will take like 5 chapters, FULL chapters, to get to that point xD how do I know? I've read the novel :p It's a pretty good read btw.
5 more fucking chapters? This shit some ass

1) They didn't need to dedicate this many pages to it.
2) Once you read enough Manga you either get used to eating shit or grow weary of certain tropes, recurring themes.
Is why people were calling out the Amnesia in DanDanDan because they knew the author was gonna do it to delay things further.

A perk of a fictional story is that we don't need to see everything happen in real time, we don't need to waste time seeing them piss and everything that happens is a choice of the author.
A chapter like this makes me fear the author has already lost his steam

Yeah, that's why we skipped 5 days. I know this chapter is split and I also hate that of online manga but this is only ONE whole chapter of them being split up. Most of which is focusing on the girl's backstory. With the set up for the next one to expand the cast. This isn't my first manga, I get not liking tropes but most of the time, those tropes in and of themselves aren't the problem, its how they're used. So it being used for 1/3 of this chapter isn't that much of a deal to me.

Maybe I got burned so many times I am quick to jump to conclusion, I hope to be proven wrong then.

I wish for once the ML would just cut his losses and stop going after someone who clearly no longer wants his attention. Like, if FL so clearly doesn't want to tell what her problem is, go back to neutral "classmate" treatment. FL is not even his friend yet at this stage, just someone who had a bit more interrest in his hobby than average.
That doesn't mean FL can't approach him to explain herself afterwards, but there is a point where the even thickest ML would get that it's useless to try to talk to someone who now so clearly rejects them.
