You know, considering how quickly it all seemed to be wrapped up, it's been done with a neat bow. For what the manga is, which is FINE, the ending doesn't disappoint. Unless you were hoping for the good shit, in which case you should probably read things from the beginning.

OK, that was disappointing. And I mean, it's not like you can't have a story about friendship . . . but frankly, this did not start out as one of those, the signals were pretty clear early on. If you're gonna bait and switch, the switch had better be really amazing and convince me that was what they had in mind the whole time just to do an especially awesome switch-y thing. Not what happened here.
Failure of nerve? Loss of time? Author suddenly realized they weren't feeling the chemistry and tried to paint their way out of a corner? Don't care enough to speculate very hard.

You're exactly correct, which is weird that the series even got this bad in the first place. So I looked it up and it seems to be published in the indies section of Shonen Jump Plus, which has no editor.
So yeah, the author is their own editor. Checks out.

That's unfortunate for the author. Editors do so much to enable an author's success that if the author actually had one, it would have been a failure on the editor's part to support them.

Felt like it could've been so much more (in a yuri sense), but then the story shifted.

Definitely feels like it got axed which is unfortunate since I feel like it could have been a decent story. Felt I like it needed a couple more volumes worth of story to get there though. So now it is just a very mid story.

Honestly I think it was axed early on and the author had to seriously pivot the story, hence the messy ending.

Now, the artist seems to have an issue remember what finger Marina wears her ring on at all times, so maybe I'm reading too much into it However, I noted that Sara just didn't have a ring at all until the last picture. With the hand placement, the ring and how Reika looks shy, it really gives the feel like it's a double date (at least to me).

Yeah, it's pretty funny that the author did leave basically all of the doors open for yuri.

Marina and Prez have never mentioned a single man in their lives or even an ex, and they are clearly soulmates. Reika recently broke up with her garbage boyfriend and she's not looking for a new one. Sara's husband is only present in the form of the paycheck he presumably sends home, so they are already halfway divorced, and she has not had a single nice thing to say about him. Not exactly the picture of a woman who is head over heels for her husband. Sara and Reika are constantly at each other's throats, and yet they balance each other out perfectly, and both of them have a good reason to reevaluate their life choices...
