Worth noting that while there's a silly faction of people (or just a couple people, I don't know. I don't care to read every single comment) whining/mocking the negative reaction to another homewrecker/"ntr" character, I think the biggest problem isn't them doing this trope. It's them doing this trope again. We just did this. At least twice, I think. I may not like the trope that much because of how prevalent and easy of a drama button it is for authors who can't think of anything better to do, but I like it even less when it's the same author going back to that same well repeatedly with different characters. Especially when yes, we know nothing's going to come of it because of what kind of story this is.
My problem is that I don't think it's too much to ask to expect authors to be better or more creative. If you're barely 30 chapters into your story and already starting to repeat yourself, that's an issue. Because each time you do it's going to be to increasingly diminishing returns.
