@Mogima Memeko is leaving because of both (presumably Ryou proposed to Memeko when he had something to say to her). Kishida kissed Memeko on the forehead (that's why that little glowy spot is there).

I still don't quite understand Ryou's feelings.
When Sawako said 'Ryou-chan can't do that', was she was referring to how he couldn't put aside his feelings for Kishida and be with Memeko because he's gay/bi?
If so, why does Kishida then state 'It's not that you like men. You like me.'?
Is this supposed to give him some consolation or closure so he can continue his relationship with Memeko?

@nobaka Kishida didn't leave for anything. The company created a new department and Kishida will be the head. Men don't leave for childbirth or marriage reason especially in Japan as the living cost is high. Temp leave is really rare in Japan and only for medical reason or death of a family member. Childbirth would make him taking on more jobs, not leaving . Memeko is gonna leave for marriage because in Japan, women leaving their job for marriage and become homemaker is sort of a norm.

I misread, but I'm pretty sure he IS going to be out next month (for marriage). Bottom right panel, left side of the panel. Title is Stay at Home Worker so I assume he's going to still be working, just not at the office. And after that month, he'll probably come back on as the head of the new dept, since the PR dept still has to be organized anyway.

@nobaka "Stay At Home Worker" is referring to Memeko going freelance (perhaps a bit of a callback to chapter 2 as well). Kishida taking time off of work because of "marriage" doesn't make sense because he and Sawako have been married for probably over a year at this point. Even if it would be paternity leave (which would've been explicitly stated as such), as miyako19 stated, it's simply not how it works in Japanese working society.
I'm probably going to tweak that part of the translation a little bit for clarity.

kishida likes memeko as lover? why he married sawako?

so ryou only liked nishida and not memeko right? even if he tried his best to love her but it still cant work so they separated

but then why ryou proposing now? is he able to move on from kishida and try again to look memeko as woman?
