Perhaps that tiny desire came from "she'll still love me even if I'm a worm rabbit". I'm sorry, but this all seems like shitty forced drama to me.

Because of that fear that she will no longer like him if he's just a human.

Tbh, I really dk how to feel about all this, I kind of wanted to see more of these two being lovebirds but then on another hand there was the annoyance of the one-chan back in the earlier chapter and now the whole why does this guy even want to remain a rabbit situation, but I hope we can get some answer or hint to why in the next chapter.

I hope author-kun can land this one smoothly, given that there is a lot to wrap up and axe kun in looking at this manga more and more menacing each minute.
