So, are they just going to ignore her turning basically every other day without control? It's not like the dad is opposing because he's stubborn or because of some secret to be revealed much later on, he actually has a pretty good reason.

He's a lot like Yoko's father from Jitsu wa in that respect. Dude came across as a massively overprotective father to the point of smothering his daughter, but once you actually saw his backstory and learn the truth, you understand where he's coming from and why he's determined to have Yoko drop out of school if anyone learns her secret.

The main difference here is that we get the harsh reality of the end result shoved in our face from the get go instead of dangled in front of our noses for 100+ chapters.

The author seem to retcon Mochizuki's memory since c3-c4 - now he IS able to retain his memories during transformation for some reason. Not sure I'm in favor of "evil overprotective dad" premise in this series since he has a solid reason to take action (really, how the heck can you "watch over" Kawaru, send tons of staff to ensure MC never bleeds?), but well, plot armor always wins.

Not really a retcon, he just happened to be more conscious in this scenerio

Though speaking of, Dad being stuck mid-transformation would suggest that either Mom or an old sweetheart of his is also some sort of prey-animal. Is she something tougher than a rabbit? A deer? And if both parents are were-animals, why are both daughters wolves? Do they have a secret deer sibling? ... It probably all depends on how many chapters the author ends up getting.

Maybe it was his friend or something, had a buddy who ended up being a rabbit and went wild when he discovered

It's not a retcon, that was likely the first time he transformed and he overexerted himself (besides he didn't have a mirror nearby, lol). As his body grows more and more used to his powers he'll be able to control them, this time he could remember and maybe in the future choking won't be necesary.

I will never get tired of parent characters who are really into their children's romance. It's a billion times better than when authors just erase the parents out of existence because they can't be bothered writing them in.

Seeing this hunk of a man blush over the possibility of his daughter holding hands and kissing a boy was histerical for me.

For real, I was dying when he pulled the "we kissed before" card to distract him in the middle of the fight
