Ooooh that's some neat fanart! I commend whoever drew that. Though, in my youth, I did that too but now I cringe as I recall them X"D It's not the same when it's your own fanart tbh.

@RyoSaeba it doesn't matter if gunpowder or the blueprints to make modern rifles were introduced to a medieval society like that. It would take centuries to be able to make gunpower more useful than just a bomb that is more expensive than magic and is harder to use than magic. The medieval society would need to first industrialize to mass-produce rifles, and even then the rifles that would be made are just muskets/bolt action rifles because modern rifles are too complex for a simple industrial society to make. This was tested back in the 19th century; what would happen when a country with only early muskets and close Napoleonic era formations were to be used against a country with Gewehr 98s. Well, due to the superiority of a dispersed army in which the soldiers have bolt action rifles who fire independently from each other, have cover, mobility, and in general, have much better guns will massacre the enemy's formation before they even get into a range in which they can fire. Sadly, even if the empire obtains this knowledge it would take several hundreds of years until it can be put to good use. By then I am sure that the true Earth(the one we live on) would already have colonies in space and the space age would have taken place, allowing for better space mining which would allow for better military technologies, making modern weapons for the 21st-century obsolete against. In conclusion, Introducing gunpowder will not change anything in the fantasy world, as magic is a better alternative compared to early guns and early explosives.

They would need to acquire several technologies before even being able to produce smokeless gunpowder.

Even bullet cassings require hidraulics.

I Dont think they could even use nitroceluse.

I see your point, but I mean, gunpowder was developed around AD 904 in China (at least according to wikipedia) so even if more refined technologies like guns or bombs are out of the picture for many many years still, you can produce something explosive at least.
While I do agree that magic would still be king in the fantasy world, having an army of "commoners" with access to something like gunpowder can certainly be cause of concern, that's why I'm glad they pointed it out!

Bro I’ve lost interest in this subplot long LONG time ago. They’re doing typical Isekai shit. We’re bringing this girl to the academy for an exam. With a thin thread of connection to the main war plot. This is boring. I was honestly so relieved they focus so much on Yanagida sud of thing during the Flame dragon Subjugation arc.
