Page 11: Itami wears a T-Shirt with an Omega symbol and the number 11. This is a reference to an allied pilot in Ace Combat 4, Omega-11.
Page 12: Itami has a hoodie with three arrows on the back. This is the insignia of the faction you play as in Ace Combat 4, ISAF.
Page 24: The background of a fighter jet exploding is in reference to the endAce Combat 0, where immediately after your wingman says that they're going back home to marry their girlfriend, they sacrifice their life to save yours by blocking a laser, which then leads to the final boss fight.

This is the type of shit I miss when I read manga, though tbh I would have missed the Omega 11 reference and the PJ one I wouldn't have gotten without actually thinking about it. Reading manga at 8am after sleeping for 4 hours is bad lol

As with all long-running manga, the mangaka intentionally forgets what modern technology and strategic thinking can do. Leilei can be tracked down with a lot of things outside of GPS tracking. And another thing which doesn't get much attention is how many Japanese citizens are being murdered right now. Wouldn't they use the "real" army equipment for cleanup? I don't know if Japan is using thermal reconnaissance drones, but at least they should have Type 90 / Type 10, Type 98 to do it quickly if they plan to pull out withdraw afterwards. (as i understand they didn't use them from the start cause they are needed on the japanese borders)

Unpopular opinion: Itami and the Harem interactions ruin this manga.
I hate Itame because he dosent give a shit about the Special Region, dude got NO punishment for getting the Elves killed.

I like Lelei and Rori...

But most of their screentime is pointless.

Biggest problem is Itou, a protagonist with no personality, no motivation, no objectives, why would you care about someone who doesnt care?

He is just winging whatever is happening, and it feels that way.

"We cut the political drama/military power fantasy to cut to Itou not wanting to be wherever he is."
