that guy's also the first prince. Like, she said "I read this stuff in books" and he went and had every medical text in the kingdom brought to him and combed through to verify that.

She could say "buzz off" and he'd could just put her in jail until she fessed up to him. The power disparity and his clear willingness to fully exploit his station makes me think he wouldn't exactly be fazed.

Back in Japan, her social skills were vastly inferior to her medical skills. That's why she faced hardships. It's not like she would have suddenly changed personality wise after the reincarnation. It's just that she now has nothing to back her up, no career, no formal education valid in that world. Back in Japan she was known as a genius surgeon and could, in a manner of speaking, afford to be far too blunt and rude for the Japanese standards, especially when it was about saving lives. Maybe it got her fired, but a genius doctor would always find employment in a country with an aging population. Now, however, she realises that one wrong move and she will die penniless in a ditch. It's not her world anymore. Not to mention she doesn't know pretty much anything about the standard field of "medicine" in that world, magic.

If she's a bit of a pushover occasionally, it's understandable logically. Though at the same time, I do agree with you on it being negative for a main character in a fictional story.
