Is Nozaki an amazing mangaka or not? I can never decide lol. So many of his ideas for a shoujo manga are weird and the story turns out bland, and he can't draw a lot of anything. But it is somehow successful despite the blandness and despite his own weirdness. But then there're little insights like this that suggest that the content isn't completely normal either...

Thanks for the translation; I'm glad Cash Money Chiyo is still alive and well.

I still can't get over the fact he got serialized BEFORE having the help of Waka, Sakura, Mikoshiba and Hori-senpai. He can only draw shonen/shojo protag, some props and nothing else lmao.

@ShinGetsu Wait, but Hori-senpai I believe did the backgrounds for him since way before the story events started. Mikoshiba definitely did too. Waka was probably new. And Sakura came at the start of the story so we know when she began.

Is it normal for a mangaka to be unable to draw anything besides the characters 😅 did Nozaki used CG for the background and other things before he got his team assembled?

Okay, this chapter made me laugh more than usual.
Thanks, Cash Money Chiyo. As a scanlator myself, I feel your plight XD

This manga is always really hard on shoujo manga's "art". It is almost always on point, though.

Nozaki being lazy makes more sense if you think of his career path. Starts off as an idealistic young author --> Gets paired with Maeno, the useless editor, and is forced to do everything himself, and learns to cut corners to get things out on time --> Transfers to Ken, whom he respects, but is now a realist about the industry, and having a useful editor actually lets him get away with stupid ideas, since his editor will rein him in.

@doradora: nah, when he debuted he made stories with less backgrounds just like this, it was mentioned in previous chapters (i don't remember which chap tho, probably the one time he wanted to reduce Hori's workload)

As someone who proofread some manga in the past, that 'Sakusa' line really made me laugh😄
